Refusing to be held hostage by Mr. Covid-19, we headed to Texas the first week of July to celebrate Alex and Amanda's wedding.
Bill and Sandy drove down with us. Bruce followed somewhere behind. (Don't cha know?!) We made it in time to help with some of the preparations and, of course, the visiting.
Amanda's shower was our first event.
David invited us over for lunch one day. We were very impressed with his little apartment.
The "Pre-Wedding Dinner" at Rudy's on Thursday was delicious!
In keeping with the gas station theme,
Buc-ee's was the natural choice for the wedding day tail-gate breakfast!!!
And then...that evening...
July 3, 2020
Alex and Amanda's Wedding!
We bid farewell to our sweet Sister McClellan for the next 18 months. Salt Lake City Temple Square Mission - you have just received one of the best!
Back home again - but not for long.
The cabin in Island Park and Yellowstone were 'a-waitin'.
Our week was filled with family and all kinds of fun discovering the wonders of Yellowstone. And, thanks to Nathan, we soon realized that there was more to Yellowstone than just Old Faithful. Who knew?!
We watched geysers erupt, saw the colorful Grand Prismatic Spring and Morning Glory Pond, observed animals in the wild and hiked to the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone with its beautiful waterfalls. And did I mention that we hiked and hiked and hiked - just like those little pioneer children did so very long ago.
Anyway...
The cabin was cozy.
The food - delicious.
Game nights were fun.
And we did all this while keeping our social distance! (More of less.)
(Ruby loved those cowboys!
We had so much fun that we even bought a puzzle to help us remember the experience.😂
But that's not all!
Before returning home, we watched Amber and Dave's kids for a couple of days while Dave worked and Amber attended Girls' Camp.
A good time was had by all!
2020 has also turned into a summer of home improvements.
Inside - a new bathroom vanity, laundry sink, hot water heater, blinds for the living/dining room.
Outside - a new driveway. (As much as we could afford, anyway!)
Even with being inflected with pneumonia, Dad was able to complete the designated task of putting things back together again.

Amanda - 22 on the 17th.
Alex - 21 on the 30th.
